I didn’t want to attract conservatives to this post by bad mouthing Trump voters, but it seems that name calling is now how we roll.
Conservatives think that uninformed voters tend to vote liberal. With the rise of Trump, it appears we on the right also have a large number of the uninformed. That’s the only explanation that makes sense to me, particularly because there are currently large numbers of so-called conservatives polling positive for a candidate who is still trying to figure out what a conservative is.
I gather that these uninformed conservatives are the ones who didn’t show up to vote for MItt Romney in 2012. Needless to say, America would not be in such a dire situation if Romney had been elected. By embracing Trump, these uninformed have found a rebel way to spite their own party. Ironically, these are the same people who say we all must to support Trump if he becomes the nominee.
The uninformed conservatives also say they are unhappy with the Republicans in the Senate and Congress. This is rightly so, as both houses have a record of caving into Obama’s wishes and supporting Democratic policies. If these Trump conservatives were more informed, however, they’d know that there is a presidential candidate who has been in the Senate fighting for and defending the Constitution, which is the conservative staple. He’s candidate has been hated by both the established right and liberal left way before it was cool. That man, of course, is Sen. Ted Cruz.

Trump supporters will surely say that Trump will surround himself with good people after he’s elected. How can you be so sure? With Cruz, you know he’ll only select constitutionally minded people for cabinet positions as well as for Supreme Court nominees. Also, do you think the senators and congressmen who let you down in the past will all of a sudden change for the better with a center-left president like Trump at the helm? When faced with a leader like Cruz, those that funded and backed a liberal agenda will quickly find their conservative soul again. That I can assure you.
Since I’ve made my support for Ted Cruz known, I have found that Trump supporters have taken to the liberal style of attack. This method makes use of name calling, shouting over others, and blocking others on social media. The method has a striking resemblance to the tenets outlined by community organizer Saul Alinsky.
Four, or even eight years ago, Cruz would have been exactly the type of candidate that the now Trump supporters longed for. A man with consistently conservative principles and actions. Why is the establishment now, after such strong polling numbers, lining up with Trump? This is because the establishment knows it would have to actually live up to its Republican principles under a Cruz presidency. It would have to work harder and defund the liberal agenda items they caved into, such as Obamacare.
Why is the liberal media not pounding Trump for giving Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation money, for supporting other liberal campaigns, or for supporting liberal agenda items such as Planned Parenthood? Because it knows it can pound Trump on these and other things as soon as he gets the nomination. As a matter of fact, they’ll help Trump pound on Cruz because Cruz would actually seek to prosecute Planned Parenthood. I explained this last week in my post, ‘Calling All Conservatives.’ I also explained why now is the perfect time to nominate a true constitutional candidate. Hint: It has to do with the weakness the Democrats are now experiencing.
I recently heard a Fox News analyst say that Cruz should get out of the race now and let Trump and Rubio fight it out. Ironically, this is the same host that pushes the hashtag #WakeUpAmerica.
The stakes are high and the time is right. It’s time for conservatives to wake up and nominate a constitutional conservative.
